Support from U.N.F entrepreneur society AND REAL work experience
The University of North Florida Entrepreneur Society has partnered with us. Workshops are given to teach business strategies to the students in The Foundation Academy entrepreneurship class. Some of the topics that are covered include business management, accounting, marketing and logistics. It is extremely beneficial for the Foundation Academy students to be able to interact with college students that are studying to be entrepreneurs.
The entrepreneurship class runs a business in our aquaponic farm which was built largely by the students. The students maintain the plants, greenhouse, solar panels, fish pools and other necessary equipment to run a working farm. There is no pesticide or engineered fertilizer used in our growing process. Students also discuss the business management aspects and learn about marketing and sales. Feel free to visit the farm and see for yourself.
Our three R’s class teaches students to repurpose, reuse, and recycle furniture and accessories for resale. Students use the tools of the trade and do the work to produce items for sale to our community.
Update:
The Foundation Academy Aquaponic Farm is OPERATIONAL
This is your opportunity to partner with a K-12th grade school that grows produce and fish using no pesticides or engineered fertilizers.
