As a TFA senior There are some preparations we need to go through to graduate and go through the year. One is our Senior portfolio, and other is being a positive influence on your under class students. Senior portfolios are a big deal in Foundation.. Well, All portfolios are a big deal at Foundation Academy but your Senior Portfolio has to have so much more info and than any other portfolio. We have to have a drivers license or permit, Applications to collages or a military Enlistment papers.

Foundation’s arts classes have grades 9th-12th in the same classes, So seniors need to be a good example for the rest of the students and show how and what to do in class. Most of us have gone to the school for a few years. Seniors that have gone to TFA for a few years have many assignment and projects to show how we have grown and learned while we were in TFA. Seniors are a big deal in school and at Foundation. We have more responsibilities than anybody else really.

Seniors and student council do all the preparations for activities and school dances. Seniors are responsible for so much because we know what the students will like. To Prepare for my senior year, I had to prepare mentally for the work ahead and get my senior goals in line. Second, I helped the school with cleaning and building of the school and some sports equipment for the school. Third, I have to make some new friends. Cause I’m not in any classes with my friends from last year :/. But that is a good thing cause now I don’t have as many distractions in class and I can focus better on my work( so it works out pretty well in the end).

Seniors have lots of responsibilities and leadership-like qualities that are needed to be a TFA senior. Foundation Academy is a great place to learn leadership skills and be do that by working in a group setting. Everyone works in groups out of high school. And TFA prepare their seniors with life before they graduate. Seniors at The Foundation Academy are prepared their future before they let you go.

Wow. That is all i can say. This video made me cry. it made me realize all the petty drama i put others as well as myself through. Its pretty much saying that we need to swallow our pride because theres people out there in the world, that have it much much more difficult then we do.
This clip made me want to move mountains, so im trying

www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tl58qufXfYk

Immediately after this video finished, I looked up Nick on google, and got his contact information. I want to share his stories with the world, but most importantly, i want to share his stories with you. With the people who go to my high school. Why? Because in the 5 minutes he was talking, something as big as a semi hit me. I realized life is much much too short to be wasting away worrying about your weight or pleasing other people. Just let go, just live life. Just Breathe. There is no guarantee for life tomorrow. There is absolutely no guarentee for the limbs you have to still be attached to you tomorrow. Your world, and everything around you, so beautiful but you dont know how to appreciate before its too late, can be taken from you within the blink of an eye. And I feel thats what Nick was trying to emulate through his message. Be thankful for the things you do have, dont yearn for the things you want, and smile. The most beautiful person is always found smiling. (:

Cheating is a problem in relationships of all ages but teenagers are more vulnerable (to be effected because of how we react to emotions and feelings). As teenagers we act irrationally to the situations we are put in and cause lots of drama with everything we do. Teenagers love drama and violence and half the time put the two together.

When my ex cheated on me i beat the the shit out of the kid she cheated on me with. One thing about relationships are they will always going to hurt its just your decision which one is worth it. Cheating is different for all situations, the longer the relationship is the more the person will get hurt and the shorter the less. There are three sides of cheating, the cheated, the cheater and the one cheating with the cheater. Sometimes the cheated or cheater will still do anything to get back together and sometimes not. Cheating always hurts though no matter what. One moment could destroy months of a good relationship or it could happen multiple times without the other person knowing. But almost always cheaters have regrets about doing what they did.

I was with a girl for a long time in a relationship and she cheated on me but even after that i still had feelings for her afterwords. When we started talking again all of our old feelings started coming back and she was happier when she was with me than she was with her current boy friend but none the less cheating with someone who is in a relationship is just as bad as being the cheater cause it takes two to tango people. When me and the girl were going to get back together after months of her cheating on her boyfriend I thought about my decisions more carefully and told her it would never work out cause the cheating would not have ended. After that kind of situation you learn that once a cheater always a cheater. So if you have a relationship with someone who has cheated on you or someone else the odds are they will most likely do it again.

My views on cheating are that it’s a malicious and selfish act. Though I cant excuse myself from the table. To tell everyone who doesn’t know the truth, I have cheated before. I cheated a lot. And then I got cheated on by someone I really did care about for once. And believe me, it was the hardest thing I have ever gone through. And now that I think about it, I was so selfish. Because not once did I stop to think about how my boyfriend at the time was going to feel if he ever found out I was being unfaithful.

I didn’t think about that until I was in his shoes, as I was the one being played for a fool. And believe me, I have never felt like lower scum in my entire life when I realized how wrong what I was doing was. You may be thinking, “Tayla, how could you do it? How can you be that girl?” Well, I did it for thrill. I also did it for the attention. The thought of doing something you think you wont get caught for is exhilarating. It gets your heart racing, blood pumping. But then when I came back to the person I cheated on, I saw so much hope in his eyes for me. As if being faithful was asking too much.

When I say I did it for the attention, I meant that before, I realized how much of a child I was being, I needed to know I was needed. That I wasn’t ugly. Having more than one guy want to be with me, as embarrassing as it sounds, made me feel beautiful. It made me feel accepted and wanted.

At the time I thought it was all natural. Every girl wants to feel wanted, right?

The only think I learned out of this whole entire ordeal is in the end, karma sucks.Because I got everything I put out, thrown right back in my face x100.And now I’ve learned. If you cheat, then you need to learn as well. Before your perfect little life filled with deceit comes crashing down.

Foundation or Public?

For most it’s hard to decide. I love Foundation. I wouldn’t go anywhere else. But there’s some things that public school offers that F oundation doesn’t. One example would be extra curricular activities. Like f ootball. I want to see those Friday night lights. I ’ d honestly be at every single game, wearing our schools colors with pride. Pep rallys would be absolutely insane. Filled with adrenaline. I understand we can play for public school, (not any more) but I want to represent foundation. It’s a pride thing.

On the upside, Foundation doesn’t have us take the FCAT. I like that. Back (do not use the other schools name please) when I went to Fletcher, all anyone could think about was the stress FCAT puts on you. At Foundation, we do portfolios. Most of us like portfolios better because we can put our own personality into our work and make it 100% original. I also love Foundation because we aren’t segregated. Meaning, we don’t have clicks. Honestly, everyone gets along . We are a big family with the power of Gods word to help us prosper and grow.

Another upside to F oundation is I can fully be myself. I can wear piercings and my hair any way I like and not worry about penalties like I would at public school. At F oundation I am free to express myself, a nd I think that every teenager should have that freedom. W e don’t have to wear uniforms as well.

Foundation’s curriculum is more hands on. This is much easier for most students . I’d rather do that than read from text books. I ’ ll say with pride that I’ ve learned more in my two years at F oundation than I have in public school. I think hands on is better because what is read out of a text book doesn’t help me learn. I don’t know why, but it just doesn’t click for me like reading and researching about at the actual subject does.

Anyone can go to Foundation. Its about a second chance, changing, learning, and maturing. We have classes for all ages. From Pre-K to 12th grade, which makes us even more like a family than ever before.

Personally, if you were to send your child anywhere, you should send them to F oundation! it’s a permanent guarentee that they’ll have a full and successful education, with the word of God guiding them!

The Foundation academy is like a big family really. After just a few weeks being there you know everyone and everyone knows you. Everyone in Foundation is not separated like in public school. Every one is cool with everyone else unless there is personal conflict between two people, otherwise, thats about it.

The Foundation Academy has Teams on everything you do, so the work is easier ,more fun and more social than working alone. At Foundation we have no clicks or groups where nobody is” uncool” or not allowed in certain areas. With public school everything a kid does is recorded by their id. At our school, the teachers know every student by name and we don’t need to wear id’s.

The Foundation Academy is a very forgiving school. Me, personally? I got into several conflicts at Fletcher Middle and when I came to F oundation all of that stopped. I have many friends at Foundation and some of them have reasons why they come to foundation, too.

Another good thing about TFA is it really lets you be open with who you are and your ideas on things. We pick our own projects and we work with who we want most of the time. Sometimes the teacher will give us surprise projects where we spend the whole day on one project. We had one day to research, write and type an essay and we worked in groups no warning to prepare or anything just said go.

Foundation has almost all the same activities as public school except sports teams. I heard something about the school having a soccer team this year though. Our P.E. class has been modified to have anyone of any fitness level to be able to do it. Foundation is in my opinion it is the best school I have gone to. And is perfect for all kids of all ages.

As we all know going back to school is always anticipated by teenagers for a time to get together with friends . The mindset for school usually takes a week or two for students because of the shock of seeing everyone again for the first time in months.

Some teachers wont give home work for this time cause the students are distracted by friends and activities. When school starts all we want to do is just talk and chill out. even though we have been doing it all summer. Summer was a time to get out of school and go outside, go to the beach, maybe play some sports and go hangout with friends any day of the week.

Foundation has a picnic that is like a mix of summer break and school. The picnic usually consists of events, food and games for the students to play and the seniors create. When teenagers hear school is starting back up again the first thing that comes to mind is “I need to stop staying up until four in the morning and sleeping until two”.

As teenagers we sometimes try to start waking up at 6 or 7 for school about a week before school starts or sometimes even the day of school we might try to go to sleep at 11. But everyone knows you cant change your sleeping habits that drastically so soon.

Back to school supplies help with everything a student has to do in school and the supplies can help the student start thinking that they are preparing to go back to school which helps them with thinking that school is coming soon and they are ready for what is coming. Parents could also influence the back to school mindset which can do a lot with the mindset of how a student feels about the first day of school. The first day of school has the biggest shock on everyone including teachers and student.its a shock because the student are always looking to do all the fun stuff in school and not usually the homework and when the kids do homework the first thing they do is ask for help from someone cause most off the subjects are new to us and we don’t always know what we are doing.

Over all students in foundation think that it is a great school. The teachers help a lot with students and all students work in teams so if a project is due not one person has to do it and entire team of people work together with the whole thing which will relieve a lot of stress on all students. Working in teams helps develop a positive mindset about school.
