Early Release

High school students at The Foundation Academy have the option to be released from scholastic classes at 12:30 P.M. every Wednesday. To participate in this program, they’re required complete a simple application form and receiving recommendations from four teachers.
The early release options are as follows:
Independent or Honor Society Community Outreach
All Foundation Academy high school students are required to do 75 community service hours prior to graduation. These hours can be accrued on Wednesday afternoons when participating in the early release program.
Pre-Apprenticeship program
Student shadows a business person or craftsperson at a local business in order to gain real world experience in industry and commerce.
Senior Projects
TFA seniors are required to complete a senior project. Eligible seniors can choose an activity related to completion of their senior project to work on during early release.
Elementary Mentorship
High school students have the opportunity to mentor elementary students. Mentors are expected to build a relationship with their mentors by playing games, reading stories, advising and counseling, etc.
Work Study
Those students who are facing financial hardship may use early release to attend work at their place of employment.
Early release is a great opportunity for students to compliment classroom learning with experiential learning that can only take place out in the community. It is a unique and wonderful experience available at few public or private schools, and is available at The Foundation Academy!!!
